Description: Using Adobe InDesign, we were to create this flier for a fictional Graduation Conference. The specifications for this assignment was to use an image, a logo, and certain text.
Process: Creating a Flier required more attention to detail than i realized it would. So easily someone can insert an image and paste in text, but if it’s not aligned with anything, it can distract you from the professionalism of the piece. It’s important to ask yourself “What do I want to stand out the most?”, and then have your eyes be grabbed by its placement. Also, Logos and such don’t necessarily need to be large, but they just need to be noticed. Proximity is important, especially dealing with related information- you don’t want someone’s eyes to be bouncing all over the page looking for information. The InDesign program worked successfully because you have access to many tools which allow you to create your own idea of a great piece.
Top 3 things learned:
1) Aligning text with images creates organization
2) Contrast helps point the important things out
3) White space needs to frame the focus of the project
